Setting Transp preferences within JETDSP

Some of the options for Transp functions are controlled from the preferences menu. This is displayed by selecting 'File->Preferences...'. This bring up a new window, and now select the transp button from the selection at the top of this window.

There are six options, and these divide into three sets. The first two options deal with reallocation of the 'x'-axis. The top option controls the type of extrapolation, the options are as follows;

  • Zero -
  • Sets the extrapolated points to zero.
  • Cont. -
  • Sets the extrapolated points equal to the last input point.
  • Linear -
  • Linearly extrapolates from the two previous points.
  • Smooth -
  • Ensures zero gradient at the magnetic axis, same as linear at outer edge.

The next option controls whether a signal is mirrored about the magnetic axis when it is placed on the major radius (RMAJM).

The third option on the page controls the number of angular points used when constructing the flux contours.

The bottom three options define the fixed values used by the fixgridding routine. These define the inner and outer radii, and the number of points to be used.
